Fun Game to Play at the Bookstore

For many people, the local bookstore is a fun, relaxing and inexpensive place to spend an afternoon. Whether you prefer a used bookstore, a locally-owned bookstore or a corporate giant like Barnes & Noble or Book People, you and your friends can extend the fun to more than just browsing paperbacks and drinking coffee. You and two or three of your friends can each pick a book -any genre or style will do (it's even better if someone picks a comedic work, someone a serious novella and someone else a biography, etc.). Then, take turns reading one sentence apiece and see what new stories and hilarious combinations develop. You can go in order, one sentence at a time, or skip through the pages. Feel free to take turns in an orderly fashion, or just jump in when you know your next sentence will get a laugh. Just be sure you're not blocking the aisle for other customers. In fact, picking a secluded corner is usually better so your laughter doesn't disrupt other people's reading. Then again, you may just interest them enough to join in the game, too. |
